Christine Yang, “I close the doors.”

I close the doors

I close the doors to the fevers of your betrayals
to your empty promises

I close the doors to the ferocious haunted nights
to the passion filled fights

I close the doors to day-old puppy love
to black and blue shoves

I close the doors to our dark paradise.
